No-Wire Basket Light Install
Learn to hang a basket light (no electrical wiring needed!)
Back at my client Angela’s studio apartment and this time I am helping her hang a basket light in the living room space. This is not a hard DIY, but it adds major style and impact. I wanted to stay true to her boho vision, so anywhere I can add rattan or natural materials, I will! This basket lamp from Urban Outfitters, combined with her new rattan coffee table, is really giving off the perfect boho vibe.
Here’s what you need to hang this basket light:
Drill
Small drill bit for pilot hole
Ceiling hook + screw
Small eye hook (for corner)
Lightbulb
Basket light w/ swag kit

How to Hang a Basket Light:
Determine where you want the light to hang. Make sure it’s not too close to the wall, or too low to the furniture.
Drill a pilot hole into the ceiling, using a drill bit that is several sizes small than your screw.
Attach ceiling hook to it’s accompanying screw and screw it into place. Use a little elbow grease!
Screw the eye hook into the wall nearby.
Attached the lightbulb to the basket and swag kit. Drape the swag cord to desired length, and secure it by wrapping it once around the hook.
Plug in and let there be light.
Gosh I am loving the vibe of Angela’s place - the natural light combined with all of the boho decor really makes it feel special. It gets better and better with every project!!
