Hi!

Welcome to DIY Darling! I'm a twenty-something figuring out how to design my dream life on a dime. Let's take this journey together!

I just love how whimsical and romantic this design is. Check out the rest of the Whimsical Bohemian Backyard Baby Shower to see how these floating roses transformed the entire backyard into a wonderland. We used extra strands to decorate the photobooth and a few windows inside by the food table.

I can't take full credit here. The other two amazing ladies who helped throw the baby shower majorly helped crafting and installing the roses. Shoutout to Jenna & Jessica!!

How to DIY:

1. Measure the space. In our case, the distance from the roof to the pergola was roughly 9 ft. Add an additional 3 - 4 ft to give you the length needed for the fishing line per strand. After you've cut your desired length, tie a secure loop on one end.

2. Trim flowers as close to the base as possible. Discard fake leaves. Using your darning needle, thread the fishing line through the middle of the flower. When you've pulled it through to desired spot on the line, secure the flower by looping the needle back through a few petals. Tie a knot for extra security.

3. Repeat until you've reached the end of the line. Tie another secure loop. If you want to get the same ombré look as ours, use flowers lightest to darkest.

3. Repeat until you've made desired amount of strands. In total we made about 20.

4. Decide on a fixed point for all the strands to start from. Using your ladder (and a friend to make sure you're secure!) staple one end of the strand to the roof. Staple opposite end to the pergola. You may need to add fishing line to one or both ends to reach desired locations.

5. Trim loose fishing line. Revel in your whimsical glory.
