DIY Vintage Tarot Card Art
Stuck at home during the quarantine and want to get your creative juices flowing? Use materials around your house and make some DIY art! I knew I needed something to hang above my Side Table Flip and was completely inspired by one of my favorite blogs, Style by Emily Henderson:

I learned how to give tarot card readings in college, so I immediately clicked on the art above this bar cart, hoping to come across an inexpensive piece I could purchase right away. I discovered, however, that they made this for the room! I was thrilled - I knew I could make my own version.
Behold! The only two materials (besides a frame) that you need to do this DIY. I’d actually never opened this pack of tarot cards, choosing to use my old deck whenever I get together with the girls to do readings. And the spray paint was given to me by my sister-in-law. And I already owned the frame. Cost for project = $0.
Who doesn’t love a good time-lapse? Here’s the whole process, including when I mis-measured the spacing of the cards and had to re-do. (Also, I ended up doing a second coat of spray paint to get a smoother finish.)
Annnnnnd here’s the full effect above the side table. I am thrilled with how it turned out, and my guy likes it too, which is always a DIY WIN in my book!
Now onto the second spray paint project (it’s even easier that the first one).
I had this ornate silver frame in storage - I’m much more of a gold gal. Additionally, I was gifted three of the original photographs from my grandparents wedding in 1957. They are so special to me, especially because they accompanied the pearl necklace my Grandpa Fred gave my Grammy Jan the morning of their wedding, which was gifted to me after I got engaged last year to be my “something old” on my wedding day. I needed to find somewhere to display all three of the photos…
Doesn’t my grandma look like Grace Kelly??
It dawned on me that the garter toss photo (pictured next) perfectly captured the spirit of our bar cart, so what better place for it!
I love that it adds to the vintage vibe, and it feels special to look at every day. Now begins the search for a frame and a spot for the other two photos!
Although these times we are in are really uncertain and frankly, kind of scary, it feels good to be creative and find joy in the day-to-day. I encourage anyone reading this to take a look around their junk drawers, storage closets, or garages, and find something to re-purpose. I’d love to see what you come up with!
